ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has launched a scathing attack on the Peoples Democratic Party Chief, Mehbooba Mufti, saying she is dancing to tunes of India to create a wedge and confusion between people and the pro-freedom organizations.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq talking to media persons after handing over the keys of newly constructed houses to the flood-hit victims of Batamaloo in Srinagar, said, “Mehbooba has perhaps got diktats from New Delhi. We have nothing to do with government formations and elections in Kashmir,”Kashmir Media Service reported.
The Hurriyet’s vision is quite clear that elections are not a substitute to the Kashmir dispute and government formations have been taking place since 1947. Our stand is clear; Kashmir is a political issue that needs to be resolved as per the aspirations of people.”
He said Hurriyet is of the belief that the present regime has turned out to be most dangerous for the people of Kashmir. “Since this regime came in to existence, Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, which is known for its Muslim majority character, are feeling so insecure. After talking to Muslims of Rajouri, Poonch, and Doda, I have come to a conclusion that there is a deep sense of insecurity among the Muslims of Jammu region,” Mirwaiz said.
“Perhaps, there is a ploy to damage Muslim representative character of Kashmir.”
To a query, he advocated a conference of representatives of all parts of Kashmir discuss settlement plan for Kashmir dispute.
Mirwaiz handed over keys to owners of seven newly constructed houses at Batamaloo.
