According to NDTV SPORTS, Misbah said, “I can’t say much on this but I guess the team owners and coaches know what is required. But it is not easy sitting on the bench for so long”.
Despite playing only five games Misbah scored 108 runs in total and had the second best average of 27.00 for the ‘Rangpur Riders’. Many of the Pakistani players appeared in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Pakistan’s fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who appeared for ‘Rangpur Riders’ said, “Obviously it is not easy to be ignored like this for majority matches. It has been tough on Misbah but he has handled himself well”.
Kamran Akmal also made his disappointment clear against the team management and the owners of the ‘Chittagong Vikings’ franchise after getting to play just two matches. “I had made it clear to my franchise owners and management that I wanted to open in the BPL but after just two matches I didn’t get any proper response,” Akmal said.
Wahab Riaz had joined the BPL on December 1st after the Pakistan and England series along with Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Ahmad Shahzad, Umar Akmal, Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Hafeez. A total of around 17 players from Pakistan were signed by the BPL franchises but only Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Sami enjoyed all the matches for ‘Chittagong Vikings’ and ‘Barisal Bulls’ respectively.
