WEB DESK: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday nominated Sanaullah Zehri, President, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Balochistan chapter, to replace Abdul Malik Baloch as next Chief Minister of Balochistan.
The nomination was made by the Prime Minister after hours-long discussion with senior party leaders in the light of the Murree accord, reached between the National Party (NP), PML-N as well as Pakhtunkhwa Awami Milli Party (PkMAP) to divide the tenure in two equal periods.
Under the agreement, Abdul Malik Baloch remained chief minister for the first two and half years and Sanaullah Zehri will now be the chief minister for the remaining period. An official said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had started consultations process in the noon before taking decision about the next chief minister of the province.
The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, Sanaullah Zehri, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Pervez Rashid, Khawaja Saad Rafique as well as the Chief Minister Balochistan and Mehmood Khan Achakzai. The official added that a formal announcement was expected to be announced by the Prime Minister Office anytime soon.
