KARACHI: Sindh Rangers, by using the magistrate powers, have arrested eight persons belonging to different political parties involved in mismanagements and bogus voting in local bodies elections on Saturday, said Sindh Rangers spokesperson.
Muhammed Arshad and Abdul Majid of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were arrested when they were attempting to snatch stamp and ballot papers from presiding officer of Pak-Kuwait School polling station in Landhi. Rangers have announced one month punishment for them.
Suhail Ahmed, Salman Ahmed and Muhammed Aaqib of Muhajir Qaumi Movement-H have been sent to 30-day remand for violence and attempting to put hurdle in the process of polling in Landhi.
Shokat Javed and Naeemullah Khan of Qaumi Ittehad Party were also trying to breach the polling process on which Rangers arrested them and sent on one-month remand.
Altaf Gohar of Pakistan Muslim League-N were arrested and given one-month punishment for violating code of conducts of Election Commission of Pakistan in Natha Khan Goth.
