WEB DESK: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed Federal and Sindh governments to file their comments in response to a petition challenging Sindh Assembly’s resolution through which the provincial legislature has curtailed Rangers’ powers.
While hearing the petition, SHC bench issued notices to lawyers of federal and provincial governments, ordering them to ensure the submission of their respective comments by 6th January 2016.
During the course of hearing, the petitioner also presented a copy of Sindh Assembly’s resolution that bounds Rangers to seek government’s approval before raiding any of its institution. The petitioner stated that Rangers have restored peace in Karachi due to special powers.
“Only the terrorists and criminals will be beneficiary of Rangers limited powers,” the petitioner submitted. After listening to the petitioner’s stance, the court issued notices to federal and Sindh governments to file comments on 6th January.
