WEB DESK: The mastermind behind Shah, Actor/Director Adnan Sarwar, who made his acting debut in the independent Pakistani sports biopic, Shah, has already lined up his yet- to- be- titled second feature film for release in October 2016.
Adnan said, “Unlike our first film, where my team and I were virtual unknowns working on a shoestring budget, there are now a lot of expectations with this next project”.
He added, “Shah, of course, will be a tough act to follow content wise. The only thing I can say at this point is that the second film will once again be a completely different kind of story and genre and that it is not a biopic.
The director further added: “I have respectfully turned down the standard romantic comedy roles that were offered to me after my first film and I do not wish to do consecutive biopics as an actor. My team and I have a clear vision of what we want to bring to Pakistani cinema and our next film will be another step in that direction”.
While his debut release featured a completely novel cast and crew, the new film will involve a few big wigs of the industry.
Shah, a shoestring budget film, was based on the true story of Pakistani Olympian boxer Syed Hussain Shah who started his life as a homeless child on the streets of Karachi and went on to become the first South Asian athlete to win an Olympics Medal in boxing at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
Undoubtedly, Adnan Sarwar was one of the major breakthrough artists of Pakistani cinema during the past year who managed to captivate audiences with his debut release that went on to become one of the most talked-about projects of 2015.
