ISLAMABAD: Legendary Wasim Akram joins Islamabad United team of Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a cricket director and he will be core part of the team management. He is also serving as an official brand ambassador of Pakistan Super League(PSL) along Ramiz Raja.
According to the sources, team Islamabad has assigned Akram the task of enhancing cricket skills, specially bowling, of the players plus he will be included in designing overall strategies of Islamabad United. Australian former player and commentator Dean Jones is the head coach of Islamabad United.
Akram got every experience of high voltage leagues and matches, He was a part of Indian Premier League(IPL) as the bowling coach and mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He joined KKR in 2010 and made KKR champions of IPL 2012.
Apart from Akram, other teams are also appointing their officials. Karachi appointed Micky Arthur head coach and Mushtaq Ahmed bowling coach, Moin Khan, Julien Fountain and Ian Pont will be part of Quetta.
Team Islamabad will reveal their official logo on Sunday in Islamabad and they tweeted the glimpse of their logo on their official twitter handle.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Sherdil already revealed their logos.
Moreover, PSL draft will take place on 21 and 22 December. Players have been divided into five categories including Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging.
