Pandher Colony: One more witness has surfaced claiming to have seen two suspected terrorists who inquired about the position of Indian ‘Platoon’ from him near Tibri cantonment even as army and police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the cross border infiltrators.
24-year-old resident of Tibri, Lovepreet Singh, told TOI that around 7pm on Thursday two persons wearing army outfit asked him to stop his bike and inquired about military position.
“They said ‘ruka ruka’ and asked ‘tumhari platoon kahan bethi hai’.” (They asked to stop and questioned about Indian Army’s cantonment/platoon position)
He said the two suspects were wearing CRPF and army like outfits. “They were wearing long jacket and camouflage pants. I could see magazines with them besides I couldn’t understand their language which raised my suspicion,” he said.
He said he was stopped near Tibri bridge which is close to local Gurdwara and Tibri cantonment.
Lovepreet said they also hurled abuses at him. “I was scared and tried to flee but one of them hit something on my shoulder,” he said.
Earlier two residents of Pandher village – Satnam Singh and Rajinder Singh – claimed to have seen two suspected militants in a sugarcane field.
“I went to the army post near Tibri and told them everything. I was so scared, for some time I even passed out,” he said.
As the news spread, the security forces including army, SWAT team once again took positions around the area cordoned off by them but didn’t take action since suspected terrorists’ exact location couldn’t be traced.
