International senior journalist Robert Craddock has made this claim in a cricket magazine.
Earlier, Gayle on his return to Melbourne talked to media and clarified himself by saying, “I did not mean to be disrespectful or offensive to McLaughlin, It was a simple comment.”
Gayle said it was a joke only and if she felt offended then he was sorry for that. It did not done any harm.
Cricket Australia Chief James Sutherland has supported McLaughlin and said that no one should have to face such comments, which were “completely out of line” and “inappropriate for the workplace”.
Gayle’s actual comments in the interview:
“To see your eyes for the first time is nice. Hopefully, we can have a drink afterwards. Don’t blush baby.”
