HYDERABAD: A former district and sessions judge, Sikandar Ali Lashari, was indicted by the Anti-Terrorism Court in a murder case Friday.
The ex-judge Lashari had been nominated accused in the murder of 20-year old Aqib Shahani, who was shot dead near Niaz Cricket Stadium here on Feb 20, 2014. He was arrested on March 5, after his suspension as District and Sessions Judge Tharparkar by the Sindh High Court allowing the police to take him in custody.
He was booked by GOR police station under sections 302 and 6/7 Anti- Terrorism Act for planning the murder, which was executed by three other accused.
During the hearing, the public prosecutor read out the charges against Lashari, which, however were denied by the accused.
The Anti-Terrorism Court fixed the date of trial on February 6.
