QUETTA: Five alleged militants have been killed in exchange of fire with security forces in Kanak area of Mastung, on Saturday.
A spokesman for FC said here that on a tip-off about the presence of militants in Mastung, Frontier Corps along other law enforcement agencies launched search operation in the area.
“When law enforcement personnel raided a house, the armed militants hiding in it opened indiscriminate fire at them,” he said, adding that the law enforcement personnel also retaliated against the attack.
“As a result, five militants were killed,” he further said, adding that weapons and explosives were also recovered from the site. The spokesman said that the militants killed in the gun battle were involved in attacking sectarian pilgrims’ convoys, security forces and other heinous crimes. Further probe was underway.
