ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Friday said foolproof security for engineers working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be ensured and a special security division had been created for this purpose.
“This mega project could eliminate poverty and provide employment opportunities, particularly in remote areas of the country,” he said while addressing a seminar in Islamabad.
The adviser said CPEC was a national project and it would benefit all the provinces. Political parties should not make the CPEC controversial for gaining political mileage.
He said CPEC will also help overcome the energy crisis, increasing power generation capacity and fulfilling the electricity needs of the country.
