NEW YORK: Former Pakistani ambassador to United States Hussain Haqqani on Tuesday said during his tenure Pakistan got F-16 fighter jets; hence Defence Minister Khawaja Asif should not put blame on him for his own negligence and weakness, Aaj News reported.
While specially talking with Aaj News, Haqqani said reacted over Asif’s allegation and said Asif should not shoot gun from his shoulder.
He said he was a professor and former ambassador and he was not lobbying. He questioned that can a former ambassador be such powerful that he could stop deal of F-16 jet.
Haqqani said the government should first of all appoint a minister and an effective ambassador.
