PESHAWAR: Leaders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and politicians of political parties here Monday termed the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to Switzerland as highly successful and productive.
Rushad Khan, Member Provincial Assembly KP told APP that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has boldly projected Pakistan’s view points at World Economic Forum and received positive response from world leaders and business community.
He said Prime Minister has invited Swiss and international investors to Pakistan’s energy, telecom, infrastructure, urban development, agro-industry and textile sectors that offers exciting opportunities for investment.
The PMLN leader said China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) was a lifeline project for the Pakistan that offers attractive opportunities for local and foreign investors to invest in diversified fields.
Khan said priority would be given to energy sector in CPEC as inexpensive electricity was imperative for economic growth. With availability of cheap electricity, he said, not only sick industrial units would benefit but also motivate investors to invest in new industrial and economic zones that would be setup along the CPEC.
He said PML Govt deserved credit and appreciations for restoration of peace in the port city of Karachi where cases of target killing and extortion were once at alarming scale before this Government. In spite of recent few terror attacks, the overall law and order in the province has been significantly improved due to successful operation of Zarb e Azb which broke the backbone of militants.
He said the federal government has accorded high priority to energy sector after assuming the power and initiated scores of energy projects that after completion would not only addressed the issue of load shedding but also generate inexpensive electricity for agriculture and industrial consumptions.
Due to these positive measures, the confidence of local and international investors has restored and direct investment was now coming to Pakistan.
He said $46 billion Chinese Investment under CPEC would bring industrial revolution in the country and will eliminate the menace of load-shedding, adding all provinces would reap its fruits.
Sarwar Yousaf, former President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that PM’s visit to Switzerland was highly successful.
He said the CPEC was an excellent opportunity for Pakistan as it would not only create job opportunities for youth but also provide inexpensive energy to industrial and agricultural consumption. He said new industrial zones would only be productive when inexpensive and interrupted power supply would available to it.
Sarwar said job opportunities to youth will not only bring economic prosperity but also protect them from going into wrong hands.
