GENEVA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said associate membership of the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) is the recognition of Pakistan’s achievements in the field of nuclear technology.
He was talking to Pakistani students and experts at the CERN in Geneva. Pakistan is the first non-European associate member of CERN.
The prime minister said the membership would strengthen long-term partnership between Pakistani scientific community and the CERN.
Nawaz said nation was proud that its scientists and engineers were building Pakistan’s image across the world.
He said Pakistan and CERN had been collaborating and had carried out a number of successful projects. These projects involve sophisticated technologies and precision engineering.
