“Pakistan got good future in rally racing as number of experienced and youngsters would be in the fore,” he told in an exclusive interview ahead of third edition of Toyota Hub Rally being staged in Nooriabad on January 30-31.
Chief Organizer of Hub Rally Shujaat Sherwani was also present on the occasion.
Besides Takahashi from Japan, Turkish driver Ramazan will another international driver taking part in the rally.
Dr. Hironao Takahashi, who won the All Japan Time Trials in 1985 on 1300 CC car added the title of Honda Classic in 1990 and won Suzuki “B” Class event in 2001.
He recalled that he featured in last year’s event held in Hub and was looking forward to make his mark in Nooriabad.
He dispelled the impressions that it is a dangerous sport instead he declared it “Adventurous and Exciting sport”.
He said if you follow strict safety rules and enforce it any expected mishap can be avoided.
Dr. Takahashi, who hold doctorate degree in “Innovation and Commercialization” said he loved and enjoyed the Rally.
He expressed that with the larger participation and presence of big audience it can make the event more thrilling and exciting.
After qualifying rounds and acclimation on January 30, top 50 drivers will qualify for the main event to be held on January 31.
Chief Organizer Shujaat Sherwani said besides competition in different men categories, around twenty women has entered the fray.
“Huge interest has been generated and crowd of over 10,000 would be part of Hub Rally,” Sherwani predicted.
He said para-gliding demonstration will also be part of the rally and selected peoples will be provided opportunity for rising in the air.
Shujaat Sherwani thanked DG Sindh Rangers Maj.Gen.Bilal Akbar for their great support and help in holding this grand really around 90-KM from Karachi.
He informed that foolproof security and medical arrangements will be in place for the event. Shujaat Sherwani said no non registered drivers will be allowed in the rally.
In the meantime a glittering launching ceremony was held in Clifton in which dozens of participating vehicles in Range of 4000 CC to 1300CC were put on display.
Besides two top foreign drivers from Japan and Turkey, Pakistan’s leading rally drivers Nadir Magsi, Ronnie Patel, Mrs.Tushna Patel, Jamal Kamal, Sarfaraz Hussain Dhanji, Asad Khoro, Mukesh Chawla, Muhammad Ashraf, Maj. Usman, Nouman Saranjam, Ahsan Sherwani, Shahid Ali Khan will be star attraction.
