ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah Wednesday said that it was unfair to pass the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) bill in the absence of opposition from the National Assembly.
Talking to reporters he said that Minister for Climate Change, Zahid Hamid had promised PIA bill would not be passed during the current session.
Khursheed Shah questioned that PIA’s expenditure had decreased then why the government was privatizing it. The PIA expenditure had reduced by 34 per cent due to low petroleum price.
He claimed it was in the PML-N manifesto that the party would not privatize the national assets.
Khursheed Shah said that high ranking officers of the PIA were getting Rs 2.5 million salary.
He said that the PPP led government would offer partnerships to the employees of all national institutions by giving them due shares.
He alleged the government was causing losses to the national institutions by providing Rs 4 billion annual subsidy to the Metro Bus.
