WEB DESK: Karachi Kings have defeated Lahore Qalandars by 27 runs in the second battle of Pakistan Super League (PSL) between the two rival cities at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Ravi Bopara has proved himself to be the lone warrior and real king for Karachi Kings in this tournament, specially this match. They failed to win last two close encounters and Ravi Bopara’s lone performance went in vein. But he made sure by scoring unbeaten 71 runs in 43 balls first and then he bowled the best spell of PSL bowling by taking 6 wickets for 16 runs. Of course, it goes without saying that the man of the match award goes to Ravi Bopara.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and put Karachi to bat first. They post 179 runs target for Lahore.
In reply, Chris Gayle (37) and Cameron Delport (55) started their innings steadily and firmly by scoring 98 runs partnership but wickets shattered one after another for Lahore Qalandars when Ravi Bopara took wicket of Delport on the last ball of the 10th over.
After that, Karachi dominated the match and continued their reign on Lahore Qalandars.
