ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has signed a document with the USA for 250 PhD scholarships in five years under Fulbright Scholarships.
Pakistan will contribute $25 million, equal to the United States’ contribution in it.
The document was signed during the meeting of Working Group on Education, Science and Technology in Wasgington under Pakistan-US Strategic Dialogue, according to a message received here on Tuesday.
Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ashan Iqbal, who led the working group on Education, Science and Technology, signed the document for 250 PhD scholarships.
This is in addition to 10,000 PhD scholarships being negotiated with the US.
The minister also discussed with the US side expansion of Centres of Advanced Studies in Pakistani universities and establishment of community colleges to promote technical education.
He emphasized of closer collaboration between Science Foundations of big countries.
