The Prime Minister was received on main entrance of the palace by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud.
The dinner was hosted by The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman in honour of the heads of states and governments of 21 countries who arrived here to attend the concluding ceremony of North Thunder military exercise.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was accompanied by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.
The PM is in Saudi Arabia on a three-day official visit. He would witness the military exercise ‘North Thunder’.
A large number of other Heads of State and Government have also been invited to witness the ongoing military exercise and its closing ceremony.
Troops from 21 countries, including Pakistan, are participating in the exercise, in the northern region of Saudi Arabia. The main goal of the exercise is to improve training in responding to threats posed by terrorist groups.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy multi-faceted cooperation, including in the fields of defence and counter-terrorism.
