WEB DESK: Law enforcers and intelligence agencies have arrested 84 suspects from various areas of Multan and Faisalabad on Thursday, Aaj News reported.
After the deadly blast in Lahore’s Iqbal Park, raids are being conducted on a large scale through out the province.
Police and intelligence agencies conducted a raid late Wednesday night in Mahmoodabad and Afghanabad areas in Faisalabad.
According to CPO, 80 suspects have been taken into custody during search operation, 11 of them are shifted to a place unknown due to identification issues and investigation is underway.
Weapons have also been recovered from the custody of the suspects.
Many of the arrested suspects belong to Afghanistan and its nearby areas.
On the other hand, law enforcers also conducted a search operation in Peer Colony in Multan. Two Iranians and four suspects were arrested in the raid.
According to sources, the arrested Iranians are from Chabahar area in Iran.
A suicide blast ripped off in the parking lot of Gulshan Iqbal Park in Lahore on Sunday (March 27) that killed at least 72 people and wounded around 300.
Jamaat-e-Ahrar, a splinter faction of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the blast. Its spokesman, Ehsanullah Ehsan, said in a statement that Christians who were celebrating Easter that day were the target.
