WEB DESK: Assassinated Punjab governor Salman Taseer’s son, Shahbaz Taseer, reunited with his family in Lahore on Wednesday after five long years, Aaj News reported.
He was flown from Samungli Air Base in Quetta in a special aircraft to Lahore, a day after he was recovered from Balochistan’s Kuchlak area.
A mini air charter was sent to receive Shahbaz Taseer by the government. To ensure his safe return, security forces officials also travelled with Taseer. Total five people travelled in the aircraft.
His family was not allowed to come outside their house due to security measures. All security measures were taken into consideration before handing him over to his family.
The military’s spokesperson Lt Gen Asim Bajwa tweeted pictures of Shahbaz arriving in Lahore from Quetta.
“Shahbaz Taseer flown to Lahore, lands and reunites with his family,” DG ISPR said.
