ISLAMABAD: The Karachi Company Police Station on Monday registered a first information report (FIR) against a male nurse of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital, accused of a rape attempt on a female disable patient.
The FIR was registered against the accused Krishan Kumar on application of PIMS management after the complaint of victim’s father.
According to the hospital’s management the incident was occurred on Saturday night 2:00 am at Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The police were making efforts to arrest the accused who was reportedly disappeared after the incident.
Talking to media, PIMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Javed Ikram said an inquiry committee comprising of three senior officials of the hospital has been constituted to investigate the matter and it would submit its report on April 12, Tuesday.
He said, the medical test of the patient was being taken and further facts would be cleared after examine of test results.
Dr. Ikram said that the accused has been suspended from his service, saying that other persons found in showing negligence would also be sacked.
It may be mention here that the female patient is disable and her most of body is paralysed.
