Rawalpindi: The army on Wednesday confirmed the ‘unconditional surrender’ of Ghulam Rasool alias Chotoo along with his 13 gang members.
While addressing a press conference here, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa said that all 24 hostage Policemen were rescued safely.
He said the army will remain deployed in the Kacha area until hideouts made by the gang are not destroyed completely.
Bajwa said no-go areas in any part of the country will not be tolerated, adding that no criminal, terrorist or their facilitators would be allowed to challenge writ of the state.
He said family members of the gang were also vacated from the island and they are being taken care properly.
The DG ISPR stated that the armed forces have also safely recovered 72 kins of the bandit gang including 24 women, 44 children and four elderly men.
