WEB DESK: Former cricketer Mohsin Khan said that a coach should be a Pakistani rather than a foreigner during a press conference on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.
While conducting a press conference in Karachi, he informed the media that he has applied for Pakistan team coaching vacancy.
He refuses to be interviewed by cricketer-turned-commentator Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja.
Earlier, former Head Coach Waqar Younis first apologized and then resigned after Pakistan’s disappointing performance in World Twenty20 2016 in India and Asia Cup 2016 in Bangladesh.
Following his resignation, Pakistan team captain Shahid Afridi also stepped down from captaincy but announced to remain in cricket. Batsman Sarfarz Ahmed was appointed by Pakistan Cricket Board replacing Afridi soon after his resignation.
Pakistan won only three of the eight games they played at the World Twenty20 and the Asia Cup and Waqar wrote a highly critical report of how the team was performing which was leaked.
Waqar claimed it to be an ‘intentional’ leak.
