Talking to Voice Of America, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Spokesman Latif-ur-Rehman has said that 62 people died due to flood and rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that rescue activities are underway in rain and flood hit areas.However, access to those areas, where bridges are damaged is difficult, he added.
He said aid is being distributed among the people in those areas through helicopters. PDMA informed that 15 people died in GB while 12 died in AJK.
Besides,standing crops and houses were also damaged. Major casualties occurred due to houses collapsed and landslides in the province and northern areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province where more death casualties were recorded, he added.
