BEIRUT: French President Francois Hollande announced in Beirut on Saturday 100 million Euros in aid for Lebanon which is hosting more than one million refugees from war-torn Syria.
“French assistance will be increased to 100 million Euros ($113 million) in the next three years,” he said at a joint press conference in the Lebanese capital with Prime Minister Tammam Salam.
Hollande also announced “immediate aid to strengthen Lebanon’s military capacity”.
“Will define with his Lebanese counterpart material resources to strengthen Lebanon’s ability to ensure its security”. Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said.
