BANI GALA: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday demanded Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to resign from the post of premiership, Aaj News reported.
“Nawaz Sharif has lost moral authority to rule after revelations made by Panama Papers. There remains no reason for the prime minister to remain in seat now,” he said while addressing the media in Bani Gala.
Imran said the PM had four major crimes to his account which are tax evasion, money laundering, corruption and non-declaration of his assets, which is known as perjury in United Kingdom. If British PM had any one of these crimes, he would have been sent to jail.
He said this was defining moment for Pakistan to change its destination. Pakistanis had got the chance to change paradigm of their country. The country would go towards destruction, if action was not taken now.
“All the world is investigating revelations of Panama Leaks. It was public who took to streets to decide fate of Iceland’s prime minister. If we all stand up we could make it Allama Iqbal’s Pakistan,” he said.
The chairman PTI said, “Our role model of the government is Khilafat-e-Rashida.” He quoted Hazrat Ali (RA) that he said, “A rule of infidelity could sustain, but not of that of injustice.”
He said the PM addressed on the government channel PTV to defend his family, while leader of the second largest party not allowed on PTV. It was opposition’s job to stop corruption. A charity hospital, Shaukat Khanum Memorial, being targeted to save Nawaz. PM would make innocent face on PTV, but not respond to allegations.
Imran Khan said it was not a government, but a group of blackmailers who say if you talk about our corruption we would reveal yours. Two offshore companies had been found on PM’s personal name.
He said next course of action would be announced on 24 April in Islamabad on the foundation day of PTI.
“This fight for the nation would now go to Raiwand in the form of a peaceful protest,” he said.
