Karachi: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said a terror-free and peaceful Karachi is the ultimate aim of the on-going operation.
Chairing a meeting at Corps Headquarters here today, he said progress and economic activity in the country is directly linked with peace in Karachi, and all efforts must be directed with a focused approach to achieve this objective.
Expressing satisfaction over success and pace of the operation, the army chief lauded Rangers, intelligence and other law enforcement agencies for their phenomenal achievements and sacrifices in improving security environment in Karachi.
The COAS also appreciated the people of Karachi for their unflinching support for the security forces.
Earlier, the Army Chief addressed the faculty, participants and allied officers of Air War Course.
He dilated on the current global issues, regional security environment, and fight against the menace of terrorism. He resolved to take the fight against terrorism to its logical end and help create environment to embark the country on the road to development.
He lauded PAF’s role and contributions in support of Army in operation Zarb-e-Azb.
