WEB DESK: Pakistani starlet Saba Qamar is all set to take Bollywood by storm. The TV turned film actor who made her film debut with Sarmad Khosat’s Manto, is now reportedly flying to Bollywood.
Saba will star opposite ace actor Irrfan Khan in her first Bollywood outing.
Saba and Irrfan’s yet untitled film will be directed by Saket Chaudhary, who has hits such as Pyar Ke Side Effects and Shaadi Ke Side Effects to his credit, and will be produced by Raabta director Dinesh Vijan, and Bhushan Kumar.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the film’s genre will be comedy.
“It’s a slice-of-life comedy about the aspirations and struggles of Delhi’s middle class. Irrfan gave his nod seven months ago, Saba came on board last month,” a source close to the development was quoted as saying, reports Mumbai Mirror.
“Saket and his co-writer Zeenat Lakhani have spent nearly a year-and-a-half writing the script. The entire film would be shot in a two-month schedule in Delhi which kicks off in August,” the source added.
Mumbai Mirror reports that the makers wanted to cast a new talent alongside the Piku actor.
“Saba is energetic and suits the role to the T,” says their source.
Saba will be travelling to India in July. “She will be doing some workshops and reading sessions with Saket, and Irrfan will be joining them closer to the shoot,” said the source.
Official spokesperson Priya Gupta, took to Twitter to confirm the news.

Saba Qamar while talking to local media said that the movie is similar to Irrfan Khan’s earlier venture Piku and she plays the actor’s wife in it.
“It’s a family-oriented story of a husband and wife. It has a young, fresh vibe and the wife is a little dominating. People will surely like it,” she said. “The film is a little like that Deepika film, Piku,” she added.
For the time being, Saba Qamar has her hands full as she is busy shooting for her upcoming Pakistani movie Lahore Se Aagey, which is the sequel of Karachi Se Lahore.
The actress had made her debut last year in Manto where in she essayed Noor Jehan.
