ISLAMABAD: The government has sent a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali for formation of judicial commission into Panama Papers leaks, Aaj News reported.
The judicial commission under the CJP would investigate into corruption money sent abroad, said the letter, acceding to the will of the opposition, which was received by registrar of Supreme Court.
Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in a address to the nation on Friday said he would write a letter to the chief justice to constitute a commission to probe into the allegations of Panama Papers.
He had said he would wholeheartedly accept the recommendations of the Commission. If the allegations levelled against him proved wrong, then those accusing him, would have to face the nation and seek its forgiveness, he added.
On the other hand, the CJP would leave for Turkey tomorrow in the first phase of his eight days foreign tour.
