WEB DESK: Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming starrer Raees, which also marks the Bollywood debut of our very own Mahira Khan, has been reportedly postponed and might release some time next year.
According to Times of India, the movie has been delayed to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan.
Both films were initially announced to hit screens on Eid this year, but SRK had already made a statement about how he would be willing to shift dates for the sake of Sultan and he proved true to his words.
Sources suggest that Khan wants the film to release on a festival or a public holiday but all holiday slots in 2016 are taken and he is left with no option, but to postpone the film to 2017.
It was heard that Khan had asked Karan Johar to give Ae Dil Hai Mushqil’s Diwali spot to him, but apparently that didn’t work out. The next holiday spot was of Christmas, but Aamir Khan’s Dangal is set to release that day and Khan doesn’t want Raees to face nay competition.
Even the New Year’s day is booked by Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.
Sadly, now we’ll have to wait longer for the much awaited movie.
