SIALKOT: District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf Aujla on Monday inaugurated second E-Court of the country. The basic concept of setting up E-Court was to ensure speedy justice and settle the cases at the earliest possible.
Speaking on the inaugural ceremony, the District and Sessions Judge said that District and Sessions Court and its 58 subordinate courts had been linked with E-Court. The people living in foreign countries and far off areas will be able to record their witness and evidence via video link, he said.
He said that the evidence of dangerous pensioners and their presence would also recorded from jail as well as witness confronting with life threat and in case of illness would also be able to record their witness or evidence through video link.
The introduction of E-Court system will be supportive in accelerating dispensation of justice as well as curtail the possibilities of delay in cases, he added. The ceremony was attended by judges, government officers, lawyers and journalists. –Business Recorder
