ISLAMABAD: International leaders including British Prime Minister David Cameron, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed good wishes for speedy recovery for Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
In a letter to Sharif, Cameron said ‘ I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell and undergoing treatment in London’.
The British premier said he is looking forward to next meeting with him.
Ban Ki-moon also prayed for the early recovery and good health of Sharif, saying the reports that the heart surgery was successful are encouraging.
Ban Ki-Moon said he attaches great importance to the partnership between Pakistan the United Nations, and looks forward to working together with the Pakistani leadership.
Similarly, Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli also wished early recovery and good health after the surgery.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent flowers for Sharif and wished him a speedy recovery, Foreign Office said on Thursday.
“All good wishes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his speedy recovery,” Modi said in a message sent along with the flowers.
Modi had earlier sent a message of best wishes before the heart surgery in London on Monday.
In response, Sharif telephoned Modi to express his gratitude for the wishing.-APP
