WEB DESK: A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitudes on the Richter Scale struck different areas of Malakand Division including Chitral in Sunday’s wee hours.
According to Pakistan’s Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the quake was located in border area of Afghanistan and Tajikistan at a depth of 85 kilometres. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
In October last year a 7.5-magnitude quake ripped across Pakistan and Afghanistan, killing almost 400 people and flattening buildings in rugged terrain that impeded relief efforts. – Business Recorder
