Director General of Iranian Interior Ministry’s Department for Border Affairs Majid Aqa Babaei has announced that two official border points will be added to Iran-Pakistan joint border lines.
According to the IRNA news agency, Iran and Pakistan were to add new entries to joint border lines.
Mirjaveh has already been the official border entry between the two countries, Majid Aqa Babaei said, noting that Rimadan and Pishin would also be used as exit and entry points between the two neighbouring nations.
Before Rimadan in Chabahar and Pishin in Saravan, Mirjaveh border point had been the main border crossing point in Iran and Pakistan’s 928-km border, the official said.
About the trade exchange between Tehran and Islamabad, the official said the figure had been around dollars 1 billion per year that was aimed to be increased fivefold.
To achieve that end, the new border points would play an effective role, he added. -NNI
