Giving a statement in the National Assembly, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has said that law and order situation has considerably improved in the country because of the unity of the nation and understanding between the political and military leadership.
Nisar said that, effective efforts of the armed forces, intelligence agencies, civil armed forces and police, and the nation’s support contributed to better law and order today.
He also said that, in 2009-10, there were daily five to six incidents of terrorism, and about 2000 in a year. Adding to this he said that, now the number of terrorist attacks has reduced to a great deal.
Nisar briefed NA about the meeting which was held earlier today in Islamabad. Prime Minister Nawaz called in this meeting to review the Quetta incident. The meeting was attended by the political and military leadership. The meeting will be resumed tomorrow, says Nisar.
According to Chaudhry Nisar, on Monday, the Chief Ministers of all the provinces will also participate in the deliberations. -RadioPakistan
