The federal government and the Interior Ministry have failed miserably to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit.
This was stated by senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan and leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah while talking to media persons during their visit to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta to inquire about the health of the injured of the Quetta blast.
PPP leaders Robina Khalid and Nafeesa Shah accompanied them.
Aitzaz said the government and Interior Ministry paid least heed towards implementation of the NAP which resulted in the Quetta tragedy and yesterday’s blast.
He also inquired about the health of the injured and condoled with the bereaved families. He said that NAP was framed to deal with menace of terrorism under which NACTA was to be made active besides implementation on 20 points but all in vain.
He urged all agencies to concentrate on Quetta and other areas of Balochistan province. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Khurshid Shah said the Quetta tragedy was a worst example of the failure of the federal government and its interior ministry.
He stressed over the need of strengthening the state instead of the government. Prime Nawaz Sharif should be aware of the presence of antagonists in his party who don’t want to see peace in the country and stability in the party, he said. -INP
