North Korea is suspected of carrying out its fifth test of a nuclear bomb, after a magnitude 5.3 earthquake was detected close to its test site. South Korea’s Yonhap news agency said it had been an “artificial quake”.
World powers have strongly condemned fifth nuclear test of North Korea conducted today.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel told reporters his country is committed to working closely with Japan, China, Russia and South Korea to put pressure on North Korea after a fifth nuclear test.
Chinese Foreign Ministry, in a statement strongly criticized North Korea for carrying out a test with disregard for international objections.
Defence Minister of Japan Tomomi Inada at a press briefing said we cannot deny the possibility that North Korea is miniaturizing a device to build a warhead.
Head of International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano, in a statement said this is a clear violation of numerous UN Security Council resolutions and is complete disregard of international community.
French President Francois Hollande in a statment said international community must unite against this new provocation which comes after unanimous condemnation by the Security Council. -Radio Pakistan
