KARACHI: Senior Superintendent of Police, Rao Anwar after detaining the leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s leader Khuwaja Izhar ul Hasan on Friday said that, Police do not need permission to arrest a parliamentarian, Aaj News reported.
SSP Rao Anwar while addressing a press conference strongly condemned Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah’s verdict for suspending him.
He claimed that, Khuwaja Izhar is called the ‘chief’ of target killers.
SSP said that, Izhar’s arrest was legit as FIR’s were registered against him. Adding to this, Rao told that, only court can release Izhar.
Anwar also said that, police is not obliged to notify speaker or IG Sindh for the arrest of any member of parliament.
He further said that, his suspension was an expeditious move and it will result in some ‘side effects’.
