Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday says Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif wants to take the matter of publication of fabricated news about the national security meeting in daily English newspaper to its logical conclusion.
The Minister said there has always been consensus between the civilian and military leadership to indiscriminately act against the non-state actors.
Rejecting the information given in the news story of daily English news paper, Nisar said that, no meeting on national security took place on the third of this month.
He also said that, three meetings on the subject were held on the fourth of this month, and he was present in all of them.
He further said that, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry (Foreign Secretary) was present in one of the meetings in which he talked about realignment of Pakistan in the region.
Nisar stressed that, the newspaper’s statement quoting Aizaz about Pakistan being isolated was totally wrong.
Interior Minister said that, during the initial investigation led by him, he found a lapse on part Pervaiz Rashid as information minister, and hence, he was asked to step down for ensuring independent inquiry.
While lamenting the decision of Rashid, Nisar said that, former Information Minister should have asked the correspondent not to publish such a news story. Adding to this, he should have brought it to the notice of the government or the owners of the newspaper.
Nisar assuers that, the government will not let PTI to shut down Islamabad as the government will ensure that all the educational institutions, trade centers, hospitals, offices, and roads remain open on the Novemeber 2.
He lauded the police for effectively enforcing Section-144 in Islamabad, and ensured the rule of law.
Nisar being critical of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said that, PTI is setting a wrong tradition by running a campaign against the federal capital.
He said the persons arrested on charges of violating Section-144 in Islamabad and recovery of weapons from the protestors will be produced before the court.
He said PTI Chief Imran Khan should wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict instead of resorting to arson and violence.-RadioPakistan
