ISLAMABAD: President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived here on Tuesday on a three-day visit to Pakistan, Aaj News reported.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif received the President of Belarus and his delegation at the Noor Khan Airbase. Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi and senior officials were also present.
According to the reports, talks between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko are underway in Islamabad.
Earlier, formal welcoming ceremony was held at PM House when the distinguished guest arrived there along with his delegation for talks with the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif greeted the President of Belarus.
National anthems of the two countries were played and a contingent drawn from three services presented guard of honour to the guest. President of Belarus inspected the guard of honour and took the salute.
