KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) rally conducted a rally to pay homage to those party workers who died in bomb blast in a rally led by Chairperson PPP Benazir Bhutto here on October 18,2007, Aaj News reported.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing the rally said that, they are here to pay homage to martyrs of 2007 Karsaz attack.
He said that, he has brought change to Sindh and he will change Pakistan if people of Pakistan supports him.
“We will together bring freedom from terrorism, for Kashmiris, from poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, sectarianism and religious radicals.” Adding to this, we will bring freedom from ‘Takht-i-Raiwind’.”
Bilawal in his speech took shots at Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan and ruling party PML-N by saying that, the task to hunt ‘Lion’ has been given to a ‘Player’.
He also demanded to assign a full time foreign minister of Pakistan.
If our demands are not being reviewed and accepted than we will do a long march. Bilawal gave the deda line of 27 December.
Former prime ministers Yousaf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, and Chief Minster Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, provincial mister Manzoor Wassan, Senator Sherry Rehman and other central leaders are attending the rally.
The PPP rally started fromfrom Bilawal House and will pass through Boat Basin, Mai Kolachi, ICI Chowk, Kakri Ground, Lea Market, Napier Road, Denso Hall, M.A. Jinnah Road, Numaish Chowrangi, Shahrah-i-Quaideen on its way to Karsaz.
Alternate traffic routes devised to avoid inconvenience
The Traffic police has announced and arranged alternate routes for the convenience of general public/commuters.
The citizens have been advised that to avoid any inconvenience they should use the below mentioned routes to reach their destinations:
Alternate Route for Airport:
Residents of Clifton & Defence should use Korangi Road, Hino Chowrangi, Korangi Industrial Area Road, Shah Faisal Colony Bridge, for reaching Airport.
Similarly road users from Shara-e-Faisal to Airport should use FTC Flyover to Korangi Road, towards Airport.
Residents of Gulshan area approaching Clifton & Defence should use Shaheed-e-Millat, and Hino Chowrangi Road.
Traffic coming from Airport to Saddar should use Drig Road, Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, University Road, PPP Chowrangi to Corridor-III.
Traffic coming from Airport to Clifton/Defence should use Shah Faisal Colony Bridge, Korangi Ind. Area Road, to Korangi Road.
Residents of Nazimabad & Liaquatabad should use NIPA, Drig Road to proceed Airport. Similarly Stadium Road, Millennium and Drigh Road to Airport.
Routes for Hospitals:
To proceed Zia Uddin Hospital, use Sea View Road & China chowrangi.
To proceed South City Hospital, use Bahria Underpass.
To proceed Jinnah Hospital, residents of Clifton & Defence may use Ch: Khaliq uz Zaman Road, Lilly Bridge, Cantt, School Road.
And residents of Landhi/ Korangi may use Korangi Road, CSD, Left turn Jinnah Hospital, while residents of Garden and Saddar may use Saddar to proceed Jinnah Hospital.
To proceed to Civil Hospital, road from Bohra Peer, Chand Bibi Road can be used.
To proceed to Liaquat National Hospital & Aga Khan Hospital, University Road, New Town and Stadium Road may be used.
Residents of East & Malir may use Drig Road, Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road to proceed LNH & AKU.
Routes for Railway Stations:
To proceed to Cantt Station, use Shaheed-e-Millat, Express way, HINO Chorangi, Korangi Road, Sunset Boulevard Road, Punjab Chowrangi, Sub Marine Chowrangi, right turn Ch: Khaliq uz Zaman Road to Cantt Station. And Dr. Zia uddin Ahmed Road, PIDC, Shaheen Complex, I.I. Chundrigar Road can be used to proceed to City Station.
Saddar, Zainab Market, Avari, Fatima Jinnah Road can also be used to proceed Cantt Station.
Heavy Traffic will not be allowed towards ICI Chowk, it will be diverted towards Northern Bypass.
Light vehicles will be diverted from Mirza Adam Khan Chowk to Mirza Adam Khan Road.
