LAHORE: Police on Sunday night launched a massive crackdown across Punjab against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League – Q (PML-Q) workers in a bid to prevent them from participating in November 2 protest in Islamabad, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, police arrested PTI’s MPA Masood Shafqat from Okara while MPA Javed Akhtar Ansari was apprehended in Multan. Hameed ul Allah Khan- Leader of Muslim League – Q and nine other workers were also arrested.
Police also launched a massive operation in different parts of Lahore and arrested 14 PTI workers.
Whereas dozens of PTI workers were taken into custody during police operation in different parts of Rawalpindi.
Police crackdown against PTI workers and leaders were also reported from Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sangla Hill, Mandi Bahauddin, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahewal and other cities of Punjab.
