WEB DESK : Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Thursday left here for Turkey after a two-day visit to Pakistan. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his wife Kulsoom Nawaz, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif, provincial ministers and senior officials were present at the Lahore Airport, to give warm send off to the Turkish delegation.
The Turkish President, who was accompanied by a delegation of his ministers, advisors and business personalities, addressed a joint-session of the parliament, held meeting with businessmen and also visited Lahore. Earlier, Turkish President and his delegation members participated in a reception at Lahore Fort. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his wife, chief ministers of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, federal and provincial ministers and senior officials attended the reception.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the entire Pakistani nation welcomed Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his delegation. He said that after this visit of Turk President, Pak-Turk relations will touch new heights and a new era of relations will usher in between the two countries. Shahbaz Sharif said that people of Pakistan and Turkey are close friends and both the countries are tied in the bonds of friendship, true love and sincerity. He said that under the leadership of Turk President, Turkey has made rapid progress.
Accord signed: Earlier, a ceremony of signing agreement of cooperation between Punjab government and Turk Health Ministry for improving healthcare system was held at Royal Fort Lahore. Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, members of Turk delegation and senior officials of Punjab government were present on the occasion. Ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan Mustafa Baber Girgin and Secretary Health Najam Shah on behalf of the Punjab government signed the agreement. According to the agreement, Turk Ministry of Health will provide technical assistance for setting Punjab health sector on modern lines. It will also provide technical and other necessary assistance for the establishment of Punjab Health Agency.
