Deadly Nightshade: Nightshade contains atropine and scopolamine in its stems, leaves, berries, and roots, and causes paralysis in the involuntary muscles of the body, including the heart.
Monkshood: This plant – also known as aconite, wolf’s bane and devil’s helmet – has been linked with other sudden deaths. The toxins in the plan can kill by dramatically slowing the heart rate, causing heart attacks.
Foxglove: Eating any part of the plant causes vomiting and diarrhea and can even result in heart attacks. Sucking the flowers or seeds is the most common cause of foxglove poisoning.
The suicide plant: Known as Dendrocnide moroides, just brushing against this Australian tree causes so much pain that people have been said to kill themselves. And not just people – horses and other animals have allegedly run themselves off of cliffs following stings.
Hogweed: Just touching this plant can give you third degree burns.
