LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Saturday says the judges do not make decisions to please anyone or under the media’s pressure.
Addressing a ceremony in connection 150th anniversary of the establishment of Lahore High Court today, he said the judicial system has been set up to provide justice, and not to give verdicts only.
CJ Jamali said that the courts in Pakistan are absolutely independent and not facing any pressure whatsoever.
He pointed out that social evils are damaging the country and if other institutions fail, the responsibility of the judiciary increases.
Speaking on the occasion, LHC Chief Justice Mansur Ali Shah said we should follow rules and regulations at all costs. He advised subordinate judiciary to make all-out efforts to provide quick justice to the aggrieved.
