ISLAMABAD: Death anniversary of renowned Pakistani film actor Lala Sudhir was observed on Thursday (19 January).
According to Radio Pakistan, Shah Zaman Khan Afridi better identified as Lala Sudhir was an ideal Pakistani film actor.
He was also well-known director and producer. He is acknowledged as the first megastar action hero of Pakistani film industry or cinema.
Sudhir was born in 1922 at Lahore. He began his career by doing a role in Bollywood film (India) named as Farz in 1947. Afterwards, he migrated to Pakistan and started his career in the Pakistani cinema.
His first film in the Pakistani cinema was `Hachkolay’ in 1949 which followed by many superhit films. In 1981, Sudhir also received a Nigar Award-Special Award for 30 years of excellence. He died on this day in 1997 in Lahore. –APP
