KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Khan, chaired a meeting to review arrangements regarding implementation of the decision to ban day-time entry of heavy traffic within the city limits from Monday.
The commissioner said ban on the movement of heavy traffic during day time would help ease traffic pressure and minimise chances of mishaps, according to a statement issued here on Sunday.
The DIG Traffic informed the meeting about arrangements for implementing day-time ban on heavy traffic within the city limits from six a.m. to 11 p.m. The ban would be implemented with effect from Monday.
He further said that three alternate routes have been determined. The meeting was also attended by the chairman of All-Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners’ Association, Yousuf Shahwani, and All-Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners’ Association (Edible Oil), Bakhtawar Khan.
The associations’ representatives assured cooperation to the city administration regarding implementation of the decision. -APP
