NAROWAL: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal Saturday said the government was making sincere efforts to uphold the prestige of the parliament and the other state institutions.
While addressing lawyers at the Narowal District Bar Association here, Ahsan said the government was also strengthening the durable democracy, democratic system and democratic norms and values in the country by taking all the main stream political parties into confidence over all national and international issues.
“We should respect the supremacy of the constitution and parliament, as it was also the national obligation of everyone to play pivotal role in removing seen and unseen obstacles from the way of national development and prosperity as well.”
He said that the government would never allow anyone to derail the democratic system in the country, saying that the political elements busy in doing the negative styled politics were continuously deceiving the people by their political dramas. — PPI
